Our Mission
The mission of Akabetz is to support nascent communities returning to Judaism.
As a not-for-profit organization, we are committed to assisting these communities by providing essential resources to help build synagogues, Torah Centers, Jewish schools, Kollels, institutes of higher Jewish education, Mikvahs, cemeteries and other infrastructure essential to Jewish communal life.
Akabetz provides educational opportunities and scholarships to members of the communities to facilitate their enrollment in Jewish schools, Yeshivas, seminaries, and camps. Additionally, Akabetz provides educational opportunities to the public to learn about the Jewish history of the region.
The word Akabetz means “I will gather in”. An essential goal of Akabetz is to bridge a connection between members of these communities and the greater Jewish world to increase the light of our people.
